Universal Pictures, 20th Century Fox, MGM, Paramount, Sony Pictures, and Warner Bros. Pictures. were all able to agree on providing free content online - that alone seems a small miracle.

The effort was put forth by the entrepreneurial project at MovieClips.com. Their work has collected the licensing for a beta launch with 12,000 movie clips from a growing library of films.
