The acclaimed author that touched a generation has passed at 91 years of age. The reclusive Salinger passed quietly at his home in Cornish, NH on Wednesday.

Author of the legendary book A Catcher in the Rye, Salinger was quiet in the later half of his life. Many believed he found solitude to focus on an assumed masterpiece work, but much like the rest of the mystery surrounding his later years, news on himself and any projects were mum.

Many are speaking out in remembrance of the man. And as much as he sought peace, the stories will likely last for another lifetime.
